POSTPONED is the NORTH STAR COMEDY HOUR AND MEAT RAFFLE...It was scheduled for Nov. 13th and due to some unrelenting pneumonia-induced asthma, I have to wait a little longer before breathing that sweet Los Angeles air. PLEASE KEEP YOUR EARS OPEN FOR THE NEXT ONE WHICH SHOULD BE SOON. Until then, it's just a few private business parties for me, followed by the annual yet abridged, Holiday Fiasco Tour around the midwest ending in Mpls. with Louie Anderson at the Northrup Auditorium Jan. 2nd.

Folk Humorist, Mary Mack, will be taking her CD release tour to Atlanta's Comedy Gold at the Landmark Diner, Friday and Sat, July 10-11th at 9pm. Recorded live in Madison, WI, Pinch Finger Girl: A Tragedomedy is Mack's 3rd comedy album. The comedian refers to it as a "tragedomedy" because the live stories teeter on the edge of sadness yet end in a humorous, albeit skewed manner. Other stops on the tour have included Los Angeles, Reno, Nashville, and Minneapolis.

Mack appeared in last summer's Last Comic Standing semifinals on NBC, and on Comedy Central's Live at Gotham that same month. She and her mandolin/clarinet sing-alongs, have been featured on the nationally syndicated Bob and Tom Radio and TV Shows, XM's National Lampoon's Comedy Network, and Minnesota's Polka Spotlight. Other credits include appearances in the Vancouver Comedy Fest (2007) and HBO's Andy Kaufman Awards (2007). Mack, a Minnesota-Wisconsin hybrid, started her comedy career in Nashville after a 5 year polka band leader and music teacher stint. She continues to surprise audiences with off kilter musical bits. Tickets for the 9 PM show are $12, and are available at the venue. Plenty of the new CD's will be available for sale. My friend Matt Swanson and I have been making Lo-Fi recordings for this website. Singing into old 70's tape recorder mics, and recording into one even crappier mic, no re-do's. I want to make a lo-fi album of covers, but I don't think I can afford the licensing. Until then, most recordings will end up at the "recorder-cast" at the bottom of this page! Self published in an obscure location as they should be.

The main news is that it's cold. In Willmar, MN it was -28 without wind chill added and I had to hire a man who owned a cab to come bring me to the college to do an 11am show, because the car my friend was driving won't start til it warms up to -12. I don't think the man that picked us up was a taxi driver. I think he just happened to own a taxi. When we arrived at the destination, he looked at the meter and said, "That rate is ridiculous. I won't make you pay all that." So he definitely wasn't a cab driver.

The other news is that I went back to posting my video coffee blogs at www.myspace.com/mary_mikelle_mack .

Also, thanks to all the great folks who came out to the Northrup for Louie Anderson. I will be opening for him in Vegas on Feb. 15-17!
